Arciragazzi
Is
a nation – wide educational association founded in 1981. It
is aimed at enhancing the value of childhood and at increasing
time and areas where children, together with teenagers and
adults, can improve their life quality and environment. Arciragazzi
offers expressive and communicative tools to children and
youths in order to develop their ideas, to strenghten their
own resources and to educate them to civic and cultural participation
through game. Children and teenagers together with adults,
carry out common plans, papers and debates: in co-operation
with local authorities, regions, ministries, national institutes,
schools and the European Union. Arciragazzi operates with
the aim of giving full realisation and real applicability
to the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Arciragazzi promotes recreational, playing and cultural initiatives:
parties, meetings, exhibitions, shows, and animated events.
Arciragazzi manages training plans for teachers, parents,
operators of the education sector, and youth employment. Furthermore,
it promotes co-operation activities and solidarity initiatives
in order to foster meetings between Italian children and teenagers
and those from other countries. Arciragazzi realises Campaigns
for the spread and the application of the principles of UNO
Convention of Childhood Rights. At present, Arciragazzi has
150 premises all over Italian regions. During the summer,
Arciragazzi Offices propose summer holidays either in Italy
or abroad. Arciragazzi is a member of National Observatory
of Childhood and Adolescence and member founder of FIEEA (Federation
Internazionale pour les Echanges Educatifs d'Enfants et d'Adolescentes
– Paris) and and member of the IFM SEI (International Falcon
Movement Socialist Educational International – Brussels).
Since
1991 the Associations works in Rome and its province. In 1996
was founded the Committee of Rome, a non-profit Association
that counts 8 clubs in Rome and surroundings.
Arciragazzi
– Roma is present with its projects in city districts, it
is a member of “Centro di servizio per il Volontariato SPES”
a voluntary centre that organises training courses for voluntary
people, and it is also a registered member of the Voluntary
Service in Lazio.
Some of the most important
activities carried out by the roman committe are: LUDOBUS, MICIGIOCOLACITTA'
and THE TOWN IN YOUR POCKET, culture and entertainment for the
children and for the young people of Rome.
